Dear Friends!

I want to take this time to thank you for all of your support over the past six years!

I had no idea that starting Erik’s Reptile Edventures would be the most important endeavor of my life! I remember six years ago sitting on my couch after being laid off from my job as a veterinary technician at an exotic animal hopsital and being very upset. I kept thinking, "what am I gonna do??? Should I continue with my plan to go to veterinary school and get a Phd in herepetology? I don’t know..."

Then, as if right on cue, a message from the universe came as I was flipping through the channels and stopped on the Tyra Banks show. She said THIS SHOW IS ABOUT FOLLOWING YOUR DREAMS! That was the moment Erik’s Reptile Edventures was born, and I have never, ever questioned the rightness of my decision.

I was given a gift, and since that day I have been blessed in ways I never thought possible! How could I have known six years ago that my heartfelt passion would turn into trips to the Everglades, Nicaragua, Malaysia and Madagascar!

And now, my dreams are growing...

From my travels in Madagascar and my experience with the kids there, I was inspired to start a non-profit organization, "Wildlife Kids Club International (WKCI)!"

Our official kick-off dates will be determined soon, and will be in time for the spring blossoms in May. This has been the focus of my energy since I've returned, and takes lots of careful planning and the cooperation of many. I've been twice blessed with the support of my colleagues, some of whom have joined the Board of Directors!

Our first Major Project of WKCI will be to build a nature center in Madagascar. In the meantime, we've been sharing our wildlife programs via Skype on Saturdays with the children in Madagascar! WKCI initiatives will allow our kids in the US to participate as well this spring!

So, you see, there is much to celebrate today. Six years of incredible programming, amazing journeys, and now a worldwide environment and conservation learning project...

I thank you all for being a part of this awesome experience!!! I look forward to sharing more in 2012.
