Hey Everybody - Erik is back from Madagascar!!! |

You can support this project and become a sponsor. |
I wanted to thank all of you for participating in Madagascar Live! After 28 hours of traveling and waiting in the airport, I made it back from Madagascar! A very small price to pay for all of the joy and enlightenment I experienced while I was there...
Thanks to the support of my guides and friends Jose, Anian Jean Claude Maurice, Jeanout, Pat Wright, Eileen Larney, Dede, Jocelyn, Jean Claude, Tom, Terry, MICET, ICTE, Centre Val bio staff, and so many others the trip was a success!
We were able to complete 30 out of 36 Skype sessions and engage the students and teachers in this unforgettable journey. The three schools that had issues with connections and black outs are having a Madagascar Live party with live animals and videos to celebrate our success!
Besides having successful Skype Session there were many things that truly opened my eyes and heart in a way that I hadn't expected. Seeing the level of poverty in some places was very sad, especially when you come from a place where excess is the norm and greed is everywhere.
Because of this, I thought it would be great to give back to the community that was so gracious to me.
During my time there, Jose (my guide) and I brainstormed and thought how wonderful it would be to start a Nature Education Community Center in Madagascar! This Nature Center will be a community resource open to children and their families to come, learn and experience nature, culture, and fun -- of course, with a focus on conservation!
Thanks to your support and the generous donations of many friends, we have the funds to get started with planning. But there will be a lot to do...
In the next weeks, I will personally be reaching out to you and all my fans and friends to help me launch a fundraising campaign to build the Nature Center!
My goal is to have the Nature Center built sometime next year, and operational for many years to come. Stay tuned for updates on this ambitious plan.
Again, I want to thank you for supporting this awesome edventure. I plan to share many more with you in the future...
Ecologically yours
Erik
